The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery's pre-doctoral educational program is designed to prepare undergraduate students in oral and maxillofacial surgery as it relates to the practice of general dentistry as well as to develop interest and opportunities for those students who are considering advanced residency training to specialize in oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Our didactic and clinical courses enforce the various topics in health assessment and surgical and non-surgical management of oral conditions and diseases. Such topics include but are not limited to anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, medicine and surgical principles. This emphasis is reflected throughout the didactic and clinical courses offered to the dental students over the span of their second, third and fourth years of dental school.
